Privacy Policy
The short version: PuzzleArchitect works fully offline. Your quests stay on your device. We collect no personal data, run no analytics, show no ads and do not track you.
1. About this policy
This policy explains how the PuzzleArchitect iOS app (“the app”) and its website handle information. PuzzleArchitect is a tool for designing escape-room quests: you build blueprints of puzzles, triggers, objects and endings, check their logic, and export them.
2. The app
Data we collect: none. The app has no accounts, no sign-in and no servers of ours. It makes no network requests, so nothing you create is ever sent to us or to anyone else.
Everything you create is stored locally on your device:
- Quests — blocks, links, chapters, puzzle solutions, hints, versions, change log and shelf items are saved in the app's on-device database.
- Attached files — photos, documents and audio you attach to a puzzle are copied into the app's private storage on your device.
- Backups — when you tap “Back Up Now”, a backup file is written to the app's storage on your device.
- Preferences — your studio name, designer name and settings (mini map, grid snap, haptics, default session length) and which in-app tips you have seen are stored in the app's local settings.
3. Permissions and files you choose
- Photos. If you attach a photo to a puzzle, the system photo picker opens. The app receives only the pictures you select and cannot see the rest of your library.
- Files. The app reads a file only when you pick it, for example a document to attach or an exported quest to import.
- Sharing and export. When you export a PDF, PNG or JSON file, it is created on your device and handed to the iOS share sheet. Where it goes (Files, Mail, AirDrop, another app) is your choice and is governed by that destination's own policy.
4. Tracking, advertising and third parties
The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no third-party tracking code. It does not track you across other companies' apps or websites, and it does not use the advertising identifier. Its privacy manifest declares no tracking and no collected data types.
5. Device backups
Your device may include the app's data in an iCloud or computer backup, depending on your own iOS settings. That is handled by Apple under your Apple account and is outside our control. Deleting the app removes its data from your device.
6. Deleting your data
Because all data lives on your device, you control it. Use Settings → Erase All Quests in the app to remove every quest, shelf item and attached file, or delete the app.
7. Children
The app collects no personal information from anyone, including children.
8. This website
- Fonts. The site loads its fonts from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser contacts Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser details under Google's privacy policy.
- Contact form. The form on the home page is a visual demo only. It does not transmit what you type. To reach us, email us directly.
- No cookies or analytics. The site sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics scripts. Whoever hosts the site may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and time of request) for security and operation.
9. Your rights
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing for us to access, correct or delete. If you email us, we use your message and address only to reply, and we will delete them on request. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights regarding personal data; contact us to exercise them.
10. Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
